Welcome to the Terry A. King, MD, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Website, www.TerryKingMD.com. Based at one of the major referral centers for vascular surgery in the mid-west, the King practice is dedicated to the care and education of patients with disorders of the circulatory system. Because the vascular patient often has a disease process that involves multiple body systems, a team approach is often employed through the combined efforts of vascular surgeons with vascular medicine specialists, cardiologists, radiologists, podiatrists, technicians and wound care specialists.

Dr. King is a member of the Department of Vascular Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and and Associate Professor of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland Ohio. However, inpatient care is conveniently offered at a variety of medical facilities in the Greater Cleveland, including: The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Main Campus, Hillcrest Hospital and Euclid Hospital, both of which are Cleveland Clinic facilities on the east side of Cleveland, and outpatient surgery at the Beachwood and Strongsville Family Health Centers of the Cleveland Clinic.

PHILOSOPHY AND MISSION
The mission of this surgical practice is to provide timely, appropriate and individualized medical and surgical care of patients. Dr. King is dedicated to improving the health and quality of the life of his patients as well as to providing the most up-to-date techniques in treating vascular conditions. Frequently, surgeons are consulted when disease processes have passed the early stages. Dr. King strongly urges patients to maintain healthy lifestyles and to reduce cerebrovascular and myocardial risk factors such as smoking, obesity, sedentary lifestyles, and high fat diets. He encourages patients to have regular annual screening and to have operations to correct serious problems after conservative treatments have been proven not to work.

THIS WEBSITE
This website is dedicated to the health of vascular patients. It is Dr. King's belief that the patient-doctor relationship is enhanced by good communication between the physician, staff, and patients and that a well-informed patient is a better health care consumer than a poorly informed patient is. New patients often experience some apprehension about visiting a surgeon for the first time. Patients have every right to expect assistance with achieving a basic understanding of any medical condition that they suffer from. However, sometimes in the office environment, patients feel rushed, or understandably, cannot think of questions at the time of their visit. The information provided in this website is designed to put you at ease by explaining what to expect when you are seen in the office as well as to explain some of the procedures and services offered as well as the diseases treated by Dr. King. This website is not intended to replace a formal consultation with a specialist who will be in a better position to answer your specific questions and address your condition more fully. * It is hoped that the information available here will help you form the basis for your discussion with Dr. King at your visit.

*DISCLAIMER The information contained on the website is not intended to replace the services of a trained health professional or to substitute for the medical advice of a physician. Website visitors should regularly consult physicians in all matters relating to personal health and particularly concerning symptoms that may require diagnosis or medical attention.
